The doublet still needs the fleur-de-lis and royal cross embroidered on it, and of course, it still needs the sleeves. I have to design the patterns for the sleeves today, and see how far I get on them. Then there's the hat to do. Hats are always fun. I can't wait to see him done, but I only have until tomorrow, as I'm going away again for a few days, and there's still an awful lot to do, so I'll just have to finish him next week.
I spent the entire day yesterday hand-sewing the trims around the edges of Tedros' Musketeer doublet, first all the way round one side of the first trim, then back around the other side. Then all over again for the second trim. I was surprised it took that long, but am pleased with the results. I ended up using silver beads for the 'buttons' because I couldn't get similar ones in a brass colour. I went to Michaels and the bead store, but neither had what I wanted. In fact both stores had lots of selection in silver, but next to nothing in gold or brass. The guy at the bead store said gold isn't in right now here - which explains why I couldn't find any - but it's very popular in Europe right now, so next year he will have the beads in gold and brass colours. Well, that's a bit long to wait, so I went with silver.

One of the forums I belong to is having a weekly photo challenge. This week it's 'Sports and Working Out'. Well, my little ones aren't into sports at all, so that was not an option.
But there were three little fairies standing around looking bored, so I suggested they might enjoy Isar's 'Fairy Dancercize Class'. She was just about ready to start a new class in the back garden.... |
