With Owen and Leona renewing their vows, they asked their son Coco, to be the ring bearer.... "Wow, that's some nice ring!!" "Could you all look at the camera, please?" "Thank you!"

"Thanks so much for letting me borrow your dress." "When Owen suggested we renew our vows, I almost panicked, because I knew my own wedding gown wouldn't fit me anymore. " "I'm only too happy to help. In fact it's actually nice to get out of that cumbersome gown every once in a while." "It is so beautiful! It's like a fairy princess gown." "The girls are going to love it! "Here, can't forget the shoes."
"Hey, wake up! It's almost time to get ready to go!' "Huh...??? Wh....where...am I??" "You fell asleep." "Looks like you were having quite some dream." "But it seemed so real!" "Anyways, you need to get up. The photographer wants to take some photos of us."
"Hey, what's going on? Why are we wearing these dresses?" "And where are the others??" "Oooops! I think I might have thought a wish!" "Well, all the magic Fairy Fluffs are gone, so whatever you did, we can't un-wish it!" "Now what?" Notes on a self-evolving story, with a mind of it's own.
After taking the photos in the 'magic dandelion puffs', and leaving everyone hanging with Holly trying to resist making a wish, Jan asked what comes next? Well, I hadn't planned anything. But the two flower girl dresses were finished, so why not make them magically transform? So we went back to the exact same spot - the very next day - and all the fluffs were gone, blown away by the wind overnight. All that was left were the thousands of empty flower stalks. Well, that wasn't exactly what i had had in mind! But then, I thought it might just work. Be perfect in fact. The price of making a wish would be that one couldn't undo it afterwards if they changed their minds. With no more 'magic fairy fluffs' to wish on, they'd be stuck. So, now what?? I think I may have an idea..... Our little group has found themselves in a valley filled with giant magical plants. Legend has it that if one blows the entire fluffy seed head off of one of the tall stalks, something magical will happen. Maybe a wish will come true...... But they know to beware, as magic always comes with a price! So they try to not disturb any of the plants, as they make their way through.... Will they ever get out? Finally, the temptation is too great.... Should she make a wish........or resist.....??
One idea keeps leading to another, and now I'm working on two flower girl dresses. With just two yards of lace to work with, the bodices needed to be carefully pieced onto a pink base. And only the KID-size one will get the fancy embroidered lace on the sleeves, as I can't give up any more or the skirts won't be full enough. Putting in the sleeves... The necklines and sleeve edges need to be beaded. The sleeve cuffs especially need it to hide the bulky edge, as there's 15 layers of fabric bound up in those cuffs! Three layers folded into themselves three times, and the three layers of the sleeve itself. Rather bulky for such a small dress. But a beaded edge will fix that.
Took the opportunity between showers, to take some photos of Angela with the crabapples.... The crabapples are past their prime. The buds were just starting to open, when we were hit
with a two day heat wave. All the blossoms burst open and aged a week's worth in those two days, and now are almost finished. So, there's not many crabapple photos this year. Well, one thing surely leads to another...then another......and another. I made one pink dress for a special doll. Then decided to use up the entire skirt, and made four more. Well, they looked like bridesmaids, so I photographed them like that. People asked where was the bride. I have a dress that can work for a bride, but what about a groom. I was told I didn't need a groom. But when I was in the middle of photographing my doll's clothes, Owen was down to his undies, and I wondered if the tuxedo I had bought for Lawrence would fit on him as well. After all, Lawrence is away getting painted, and who knows when he'll be back. He'll never know So I tried it on Owen......and it fit!! Well, not perfectly, as Lawrence is an FID, and is a bit taller, with much wider shoulders, and longer arms and legs. But I just folded the sleeves and pants legs in to make it work. Lawrence's black shoes seemed too big, but the last wedding I went to, all the guys wore brown shoes with their dark suits, so I figured Owen could do the same... The girls thought he looked very handsome Of course, now I don't have any excuse to not do a wedding photo shoot.
And I hope I don't come to regret trying the tux on Owen, because Lawrence is an FID with completely different proportions - much more 'realistic' with a smaller head - and he might look weird in it after I get used to seeing a JID wearing it. Oh well. Too late! I'm still in the process of catching up with all the doll outfits that haven't been documented yet. I got through ten yesterday, and several more today. Then I needed a 'casual' shot of lovely Isis, for the page with her outfit - which should have been done last year. So out we went.... It's been bugging me for quite some time that so many outfits weren't properly documented, and it feels good to be getting somewhere with it, even though it is a LOT of work. In some ways it's even nice to be able to handle some of the outfits, and see them up close again. Like all my Wizards many layers of clothes. He never did get a proper final photo when his Wizard costume was done... When he was completely undressed, i took advantage of the opportunity and wired his arms, so now he'll hold a pose better - and hold his staff better. No more 'kinky' elbows. Lily's 'Summer Goddess' costume just blew me away. What a lot of work went into that! Now to put her clothes back on, and make her 2015 Gallery page. There's also four more outfits that are almost ready to make pages for. I've taken the photos, and now still have to process them all. That will leave the most complex of all - Owen's Musketeer costume - and three more outfits that still need something made in order to complete them.
With the pink dresses finished, I've decided to take the time to finish a bunch of things that have been sitting on the sidelines for way too long. Some for years, in fact. That includes photographing doll outfits in the studio and finally making the Gallery pages for them. There are so many that don't have any links - because I never took photos. Well, I'm trying to address that now, but it's a huge onerous task, as there's more than twenty outfits that need documenting. They are mostly outfits I made for my own dolls, and it was just easy to forget about doing them. Outfits for sale were always documented properly. But there aren't that many of those lately.
Anyway, once I'm done and up to date, there will be several of my own outfits released for sale - ones my dolls never wear anymore - along with three of the pink Narae dresses. Probably at the end of the month. Which, the way time flies, will be here before you know it. So I better get back to it. |
