All the children were having a great time painting their circles.... When Erzulie was done, she cleaned her brush.... Then Narae let them choose a coloured backing for their paintings.... And she mounted their paintings.... Then Paige hung up their artwork, as the kids cleaned up..... They were all really impressed...."They look really good!"

There were so many children who wanted to attend Narae's art classes, but because she had to limit the numbers to six per class, she had to add another class for a second group of children.... As they arrived, Paige helped them put on an apron or smock.... "Wow, that's so cool! Is that what we are going to to do today?" "Welcome everyone! I'm so glad you all wanted to come. For your very first project, we are going to make a colourful painting, inspired by a famous Russian artist named Kandinsky." "To make your own 'Kandinsky' style paintings, you will start by dividing your paper into six..." "Then you will paint a coloured dot - any colours you like - in the middle of each square, and keep adding coloured circles around those dots, until the whole square has been filled in." "You may start as soon as Paige gives you your paper...."
I finished Willie's hat, and put everything on her. She's very difficult to pose, or get to stand on her own. Way more challenging than her little animal friends. She will definitely need some wiring. But first she needs to be painted.
Hopefully tomorrow she will be going to the spa to get some colour. Before too long, everyone was almost finished.... There were just a few details to add with coloured pencils... Then everyone gathered for a group photo..... And an individual portrait with their caterpillar..... Nyssa's looked most like the one on the cover of Eric Carle's book.... Holly chose to make her caterpillar purple, orange and red.... Chloe made a very fat blue one..... Ringo decided to use every colour..... While Efreet went a more 'natural' route..... ..and Bonnie decided to make her 'caterpillar' metamorphosed..... That weekend, the workers finally came to put up the wall to separate her studio from the rest of the house, and Narae hung up everyone's Caterpillar art.....
When all the paint had been cleaned up, and the room was back in order... "I'm sure you all love the colourful books by Eric Carle....like; 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?'; 'Polar Bear, Polar Bear. What Do You Hear?'; and of course, 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar', "Did you know that Eric Carle makes all the pictures for his books by cutting and pasting pieces of paper that he's painted?" "Well, that's what we are going to do now. We are going to make our own 'Hungry Caterpillar' pictures from the sheets of finger-painted paper we just made. You may use any of the finger-painted papers, even if it's not one you made yourself. We are going to share all of them. You can take any of the coloured sheets, cut off a piece, and then hang it back up so the next person can use it." So they all started to work....cutting and gluing....
