The group continued heading westward through the forests, when Aeran suddenly spotted a bear ahead, and motioned for Maya and Byuri to stay back.... Narin and Adrian had spotted him too, and immediately reacted....and shot him..... Byuri was in shock as she entered the clearing... ...and saw what they had done... She ran to the bear.... ...while the others just stood watching in silence... "What have they done to you?" she sobbed, as she gently stroked his fur. "You didn't deserve this." Maya knelt down in an attempt to comfort her.... ..while the others watched in silence, suddenly feeling very ashamed... "He would not have hurt us." "They didn't need to kill him."

The group headed down off the windy mountain top, and set up camp in the relative shelter of the forest.... It was still bitterly cold.... Maya made everyone a warm drink.... ...as they sat around the warmth of the fire.... Byuri wasn't used to this kind of cold... ...and she was thankful for the warmth provided by her new friends. "Do you think we'll ever find my mother?" she asked. "Yes, we will, but I'm not sure exactly when." "We are following the eagle who led us to you. He seems to have some kind of special connection to you, and seems to want us to follow him. We think he's guiding us back to your family." "So yes, I'm sure we will get you home to your Mother."
Aeran decided to take a break from their Quest, to try to find the little girl's mother. Her name was Little Beaver, or Byuri in her native language. Kyle wasn't exactly thrilled with taking a huge detour, but Aeran was technically in charge, so he did his best to follow the eagle.... After all, Aeran felt that if the eagle had led them to Byuri, then it was likely that he would also know where to find Byuri's mother. It was very cold and windy.... ...as the group followed the eagle across the mountains....
One day, as they headed deep into the mountains... They noticed a large eagle, who seemed to be following them. Aeran had the feeling that he wanted them to follow him... He led them to a little native girl... "Don't be afraid." said Maya as he approached her. "This eagle led us to you, and we aren't going to hurt you. What are you doing out here all alone?" She had been crying, and wiped her tears. "I'm lost. I can't find my mother. All the people in our village were moving to our summer berry-picking grounds, and I followed a deer into the forest, and then couldn't find my way back. I want my mother. I've been looking for her for a long time, and can't find her anywhere." Aeran and Maya wanted to help the little girl and reunite her with her mother, but Kyle wasn't too keen on interrupting their quest. "We can't just leave her here." insisted Maya. Aeran decided that they could spare the time to help the little girl. It was the right thing to do.
I finally finished processing all the photos I took back in 2024 to finish the story I started back in 2012, and am ready to start posting the rest of the story. A RecapPrincess Aeran was her grandfather's only heir. He explained to her that when she became Queen she would need a special jewel - the Heart of the Mountain - to solidify her position in the eyes of all the surrounding kingdoms, as they would otherwise not accept a Queen in her own right. Long ago, as a young man, he had paid it as a bride price for the girl he had fallen in love with, but he had lost track of it over the years, so now he charged Aeran with the important quest to find and retrieve it. The King had arranged for the son of a good friend, and King of a neighbouring kingdom to accompany Aeran. She wasn't impressed, but reluctantly knew she could use some help. So, after making preparations, Aeran, Prince Kyle, and Aeran's childhood friend Maya departed on their quest.... There were also two trusted young men who came along, leading the horses and all the supplies... They headed into the mountains.... Setting up camp each night.... Occasionally, they would come to a village.... ...and Aeran would write a letter home to her grandfather, letting him know where she was, and of their progress....
Another portrait photo, this time of the three ladies with some the most elaborate gowns I've made, all with the beaded dagged sleeves; Sarah, Agnes, and Miho..... Their skirts and hanging sleeves are all of fancy velour, which drapes beautifully. Agnes' gown was made using the same pattern designed for Miho's gown, while Sarah's is a version of my Elf Gown pattern. However, as much as I loved the velour, it's a thick fabric, and would be too thick and out of scale close to their faces - like a human having a bodice made out of short fake fur - so I used thinner satins and brocades for their bodices.
Before taking the photos of Monica in her conservatory, I had made her a new, more casual outfit. I thought she wouldn't always be wearing one of her elaborate regal red gowns, but should have something a little less formal to wear at home....
I had wanted to take Pasta Day photos for a while, and finally determined to do it. I had originally thought of making pasta out of polymer clay, but in the end decided to go with the real thing. So, we went to Bulk Barn to check out what they had to offer, and spent 35 cents on a bit of three different mini pastas; tiny elbows, mini lasagne, and some tiny shells. I started by making the little pasta art picture, then cooked up the rest, and added leftover pasta sauce.... I set up the scene on a box on the kitchen counter. That way the doll's eyes would be about the height of a real child their age. There wasn't enough room for three chairs, so only Elliot actually sat on one... But when it came time for him to hold up his picture to show the girls, I felt the picture covered too much of his face... He needed to get up on his knees on the chair so he'd be taller, and he needed some help from an elastic band to stay in position.... And I forgot to clone it out in the final photo....
Holly and Cookie were enjoying pasta for lunch... Not only was it delicious, but it came in so many different shapes. Holly loved the elbows... ...and Cookie loved the wavy lasagne... "Yummmm!" But Cookie's brother Elliot had a different idea... "What are you doing?" "Making a picture." "Of what?"
A few photos of Bella and Agnes, with Bella wearing the pink elf gown made from the same fabric as Agnes' underskirt...
