It's a winter wonderland out there after three storms in just one week dumped over 60 cm of snow on us. We haven't experienced this much snow in years. Hopefully we don't get much more.... ..as there's no place left to pile it....
Muffy and Maisie were on their way home from shopping, when it started to snow... ..so they took shelter under a large mushroom... They stood there for a little while. "I don't think the snow is going to let up.." "We should probably head for home before it gets any worse."
This weekend we proudly celebrate the 60th anniversary of our Canadian flag.
Canada had been flying the red ensign for almost a hundred years, and then in 1963, the government finally decided that Canada needed an official flag, and the heated flag debate began. In the end there were three contenders, and it was George Stanley's concept design that won out. It was made the official flag of Canada by proclamation from Queen Elizabeth II, and on February 15th 1965, it was raised above the Peace Tower in Ottawa for the very first time. It has since become one of the most recognizable flags in the world. So, some of the kids dressed warmly to head out into the falling snow to celebrate their patriotism.... Bianca comes from a large family, several of whom live with her and Rex in their castle... Back row from left; Edan, Yvette, Bianca holding Lizbet, Rex. Front row from left; Lisa, Faye, Amber, Judith, Daisy Yvette and EdenYvette is one of Bianca's sisters, and her boyfriend Edan also has quarters in their castle. They are very much in love...but are not married.....yet The two of them have taken one holiday trip together in modern times. But they are usually characters in my Medieval Fantasy world the GirlsThere are four young teenage girls living with Rex and Bianca. Faye is Bianca and Yvette's youngest sister.... Lisa and Amber are Bianca's nieces. Their parents sent them to live with their aunt and uncle, as was the custom in noble families in those days, in hopes that their daughters might find a position at court. Amber just recently arrived. Lisa found a position with Baron and Naomi helping with their twins. Daisy also lives with her uncle Rex and aunt Bianca. She is Rex and Monica's niece.
As the Queen's brother, Rex is one of the King's closest and most trusted knights. He is married to the Lady Bianca, and they have two daughters, Judith, and little Lizbet... Rex and Bianca were my very first Fashion size couple. They started out as an elegant contemporary couple.. ...and starred as the Phantom and Christine, in the Phantom of the Opera... ..before slipping back even further in time to the seventeenth century... Then after Lawrence and Monica arrived and I made them their regal outfits, Rex and Bianca soon joined them in my Medieval Fantasy world. Rex became a brave knight, and the Queen's brother. He and Bianca became a noble couple with two daughters - Judith and Lizbet - who were ordered specifically to be their children.
Manny and Muffy had been married for many years, but they still had that romantic spark, especially on Valentine's Day, and they both went all out... "Happy Valentine's Day sweetheart!" "Thank you. And a Happy Valentine's Day to you too." "I love the flowers, and these are my most favourite chocolates in all the world!" They leaned in close... "I love you." "Happy Valentine's Day!"
Well, it just so happens that today, February 13th, is Lawrence's birthday, and I thought you might enjoy revisiting the story about what his kids made for him for his birthday...
(*click on the photo to go to the story) The Royal family with their immediate relations... On the left beside Monica is Rex and his family. He is a knight of noble birth, and the Queen's brother. On the right beside Lawrence is Princess Grace and her family. She is the King's younger sister. Grace & JudeGrace is married to Jude, head of Lawrence's Special Forces Unit. He was a widower with two children - Bonnie and Jamie - from his first marriage. I ordered Jamie to be Jude's son, and chose Bonnie from among my orphan BIDs because she was blonde like her father. They usually live a more rugged lifestyle... ...but have even occasionally visited other time periods... ..including modern times...
My doll collection has grown over the years, and there's way too many dolls for one large group photo, so I've decided to take photos of all the individual family groups and create a Family Portrait album in Favourite Photos 2025. I will start posting them here intermittently starting with the Fashion Size Fantasy Medieval families. the Royal FamilyLawrence and Monica are the King and Queen in my Medieval Fantasy world. Lawrence was born a Prince, and fell in love with and married Monica, a beautiful young woman of noble birth. They ascended the throne when Lawrence's father died. They have four children... Their children are (from the left) David, Nami, Ringo (the youngest), and Paige (the eldest). All four children predated their parents in my collection, some by many years. Nami was my second BID and was a contemporary little girl for 7 years before becoming a Princess. She was one of my favourite little girls, and the only one who wasn't already part of a family at the time when I was putting together the Royal Family. Ringo was a contemporary little boy for five years before his older brother David arrived. They were contemporary brothers for just over a year, before David was chosen to become a Prince. I didn't want to split the brothers up, so Ringo became a Prince as well. Last to join the group was Paige. She had also been a contemporary girl without a family of her own for a while before becoming a Princess. The four of them have been together as Lawrence and Monica's children for five years now, and they make a wonderful family. The only one of the children who has ventured out on their own since becoming part of the Royal Family is Nami who played the starring role of Princess Elora in A Christmas Story, along with both Lawrence and Monica, as her parents. Even though Lawrence is a very busy King, running his kingdom, and tending to affairs of state, he will make time to spend with his children... His greatest love is Monica... ..and occasionally the two of them will take a short holiday, just the two of them alone together, somewhere in the future where no one knows who they are...
