The bodice under construction...
|
I came across a gorgeous red ombre brocade at Value Village, and decided to make a gown using the same pattern as the pink and mauve elf gowns, but with a totally different look. So I gathered fabrics and trims I thought might work with it... This dress was made the same way as the two elf gowns, so I'm not going to explain every little detail in this post today. It's all in the Elf Gown Tutorial. The only difference is that this gown has a layered bodice with long fitted fabric sleeves and totally different hanging sleeves. The bodice under construction... Using large darts to reduce the fabric bulk at the top of the skirt... The basic gown... The under sleeves... The hanging sleeves... The finished gown... To see more details about the making of this gown, as well as the patterns, and the step by step instructions for the first two, check out my tutorial - Medieval Elf Gowns

Stunning! I love the contrast of fabric, it's looks so regal! Your elf gowns are so beautiful.

Thank you. The first two were intended for elves, but this one is for my Queen.

Yes, this is a different look, dark and moody but yet contemplative. It definitely makes a bold statement.

Thank you! I intended it to be for Monica. Red is her colour, and I figured she could use something new.

Monica's new gown is so beautiful!! ❤️ Red is definitely her colour. She is a very elegant queen with her dramatic colouring. Comments are closed.
