Winston and Saphira first wanted to explore Waterton Lakes National Park....
In addition to taking seven dolls along to finish photographing the story from twelve years ago, I also took along my family of dragons. I thought it would be nice to have some subjects to just take some fun photos with. Winston and Saphira first wanted to explore Waterton Lakes National Park.... They spotted the Prince of Wales Hotel in the distance.... ...and watched a grizzly scamper away.... Then they headed up to Crowsnest Pass, and the site of the great Frank landslide... ...where the entire side of a mountain had come rumbling down a hundred years ago. The road and rail line had been cleared long ago, after all Crowsnest Pass is just one of three passes through the Canadian Rockies. But the debris field still looked as fresh as if it had just happened.... Then the dragons headed north to Calgary, where they took the kids out to see Ghost Lake...

What a memorable vacation. The young dragons will be talking about this adventure for decades.

I think the little dragons had a great time. Of all the 'doll' photos I took on our trip half were of the dragons.

What a beautiful locaction! Meeting a pair of dragons would probably send me scampering off for cover too 😁

The bear was on the road, and by the time I put my telephoto lens on, he was running away. Its hard to know which lens to have on my camera. I can't shoot scenery with the telephoto lens, but we also don't tend to encounter wildlife when it's on. So it's always a quick switch while hoping the animal stays where it is. It usually doesn't.

The photo of the dragons on the landslide debris could be on another planet. Comments are closed.
