Pirate Month
August is International Pirate Month, and Captain Hook and some of his crew had come ashore to dig for treasure.
The Captain's first mate had secured the map that had led them to this secluded beach...
...and they had found the treasure exactly where it had been marked on her map.....
The quartermaster was in charge of loading the treasure into the longboats ...
"Make sure you take every doubloon," ordered the Caption.
"and don't leave anything behind!"
"Yes Captain!"
"We'll get it done Captain."

"You better!"
'Well, this boat is full! Time to take this load back to the ship."
But the two cabin boys were distracted my the colourful tropical birds...

World Rainforest Day
It was June 22nd, and Byuri and two of her little dragon friends were exploring the old growth rain forest in Cathedral Grove on Vancouver Island....

Weeding the Garden
Owen and Leona's family had recently returned from an extended vacation, and with it being June 13th, National Weed Your Garden Day, they decided it was the perfect day to try and get their severely overgrown garden back under control....
Owen was busy trimming everything down with his shears...
While their kids carted away the clipping to the compost pile....
"Maybe next time we are going to be away this long," commented Leona...
'We should hire a gardener to keep things under control."
Gummi Worms
July 15th is National Gummi Worm Day,
and Effie had brought along a bag of huge Gummi worms to her friend's house...
Everyone eagerly helped themselves to one....
"Let go!"
"No! I had it first!"

"If you both keep pulling on it like you're going to rip it in half!"

"And there are plenty more!"
|
|
|
But the boys continued to pull on the worm...

And of course it broke...
"Ooops!"
"Told you so!"
Bambi
Introducing new-to-me KID Bambi. She reminded me so much of a young Bianca that I couldn't resist getting her. I only had one Medieval Fantasy gown left in her size, and have been trying different wigs on her to find her look.

Gobble, Gobble
It was American Thanksgiving, and the kids went out to try and catch the turkey....
|
|
But Tom the Turkey was a Wiley old bird....
...and was a veteran at avoiding becoming the main entrée at every holiday feast so far.
So, try as they might....
...they couldn't catch him....

..and it would just be veggies and hotdogs for Thanksgiving dinner again this year.
