Christmas Eve

Well, it was finally time for Santa to get dressed....

"So, you have to go around the whole world??"

"Well, no. I just go to a couple of countries.... Canada, the United States, and a couple of other ones. I have several brothers and sisters who deliver gifts to many of the other countries. Like Sinterklaas in the Netherlands; Kris Kringle in Germany, Austria & Hungary; Father Frost and his Granddaughter in the Russian countries; Father Christmas in England; Le Befana in Italy; and the Three Magi in the Spanish countries. Some people call all of us 'Santa Claus', but we are all entirely different people."

"So, where on there are we?"

"Right here, near the very top, on the northern-most island in Canada..."

Time to Go

Well, it was finally time for Santa to leave, and Narae gave her grandfather a big hug....

Just like every other Christmas Eve, the workshop had been transformed into a party room, so the elves could celebrate another year well done

'This year you'll have a special treat, since Winston here took over the kitchen...

'I know he's been working hard in the kitchen the past few days..."

'Anyway, it's time to go. So, have fun everyone! And I'll see you all again tomorrow."

the Christmas Eve Party

It was a tradition that every Christmas Eve, while Santa was away all night making deliveries, the rest of the staff would have a party. All the workshop tables and chairs would be lined up into one big, long table, and covered with all kinds of yummy things to eat.....

This year they were in for a special treat, since Winston had offered to make all the goodies.
"Would you like a cupcake? It's my own personal recipe."

"Yes, please! They look really yummy!!"

It was nice to just sit and relax, after all the hard work the past few weeks....

Not only did Winston do all the baking, but he was also doing all the serving.
"Would either of you like one of my cupcakes??"

"Hey!! That's the one I was going to take!!"

"Oh Effie! They're all the same!

"No they're not! That one there has a cherry on top!!"

"I'd like to raise a toast.....to everyone here......for another year well done!
You've all been working extra hard, and we made a record number of toys this year"

"And here's also to Willie, who stepped in at the last minute and lent us all a helping hand....

"And hey Effie, down there at the far end of the table....just stop arguing, and take a cupcake!!"

Once they'd all sampled the goodies, the tables were pushed back, and the real partying began.
But I got company over, so couldn't photograph the festivities....

At one house, Meanwhile, Santa was enjoying some treats of his own. Holly and Coco had put out quite some spread to tempt him, and then hid behind the tree and waited to see if they could see him...
