Victorian Times 2

A continuing series of photos featuring my Victorian family. They were all taken to become additions to two Victorian Family albums under construction at the time, so are just some simple scenes, and not intended to be complete stories.

Pet Day

Eric, Nyssa, and their friends wanted a group photo taken of them with all their pets, so they gathered on the patio...

Going for a Walk

Steve and Iris enjoyed taking baby Sena for a stroll in the evenings.
Picture
The fresh air made her sleep better.
Picture
Which meant they'd all get a better night's sleep.

Babysitting

Lisa was great with children, and she would often babysit the little girl next door...

Dolls and Trains

On rainy days the children were stuck inside, but iris didn't mind if they took over the entire parlour with their toys....
Picture
Nyssa's friend Elin always liked to come over and play with her dolls.
Picture
But this afternoon, Eric was busy laying out his train set with his friend Bordy...
Picture
and Elliot, Elin's little brother.
Picture
Picture
But Nyssa was more interested in the nice village the boys had laid out...
Picture
Elliot and Bordy didn't mind...
Picture
Picture
But that left Elin alone with Nyssa's dolls. ..
Picture
But she didn't mind either, since then she had all of Nyssa's dolls to herself...

Quiet Evenings Together

With spring came longer evenings, and after dinner Steve and Iris would often go out to the park with little Sena..
Picture
She loved her Daddy, and missed him during the days when he was at work...
Picture
He missed her too...
Picture
Picture
Picture
...and it gave them a chance to spend some time together...

Drawing Dinosaurs

One day their family went to see the huge 'dinosaur' skull that had been discovered on the beach.
Picture
Their parents had let them choose a small dinosaur model from the souvenir stand, and when they got home, they thought it would be fun to draw some pictures of what they thought they might have looked like...
Picture
No one knew what dinosaurs actually looked like back in Victorian times, so they had to use their imagination....
Picture
Picture
Picture
Their cousin Coco was the first to finish...
Picture
"What do you think?"
Picture
"It looks interesting."
Picture
Then Eric proudly held up his drawing....
Picture
Both Nyssa and Coco stared at the picture in surprise ....
Picture
"So, you really think that's what this dinosaur might have looked like?"
Picture
"Well, you said to use our imagination."

Babysitting Money

Lisa had been saving up her babysitting money for some time, and her piggy bank was full.
Picture
So she went to see her father at the bank to open a savings account...
Picture
He knew her piggy bank was important to her
Picture
Picture
..and managed to remove all her money without breaking it.
Picture
"So, you want to open a savings account?"
Picture
"Yes, please."
Picture
So she took off her hat, and they started to sort and count the coins...
Picture
Steve was impressed with this industrious daughter. "You've done really well saving all this up."
Picture
Then Lisa watched...
Picture
as her Dad recorded the amount in a brand new little pass book...
Picture
Picture
"Here you go young lady."
Picture
"This little booklet is your own personal pass book. And each time you bring in more money, or take some out, we'll record it, so you know exactly how much money you have in your account."
Picture
Lisa put on her hat, picked up her piggy bank, and got ready to leave...
Picture
"Thank you Papa. Now I just need to go earn some more money, and then I'll be back."
