A Gnome Family Christmas - cont'd

Christmas morning, and everyone was eager to see what was in their stockings, so Papa climbed up the ladder to get them down
Picture
"First the ones for the children. This one is for one of the twins...for Anika...."
Picture
Then it was Opa's turn.
Oma: "I put that stocking together specially for you!"

Picture
There was a brand new hammer inside..  "Thank you so much!"
Picture
"I knew that you would like that."
Picture
Papa continued to pass down the stockings.
Picture
Pieter, who had a sweet tooth, was thrilled with his stocking full of treats...
Picture
Papa's stocking was the last to be taken down, and it had some new cooking utensils and cooking wine...
Picture
Then it was time to open the gifts. Mama gave her husband a brand new set of mixing bowls
Picture
Oma gave Opa some more new tools..
"Maybe later you could use them to fix something for me"
Picture
Mama gave her mom a new coffee maker...
"It's perfect! We can try it out after dinner. Which reminds me, I better go check on things."
Picture
Papa got his dad a new engine and rail cars for his model train set..
"Thank you Son. This is the best Christmas gift ever!"
Picture
The babies were getting tired, and it was time for a nap, but they all wanted their new teddies, so Mama had to get creative as to how to fit them all into the cradle.
Picture
The babies went to sleep, and Mama was surprised when Papa presented her with a huge gift.
Papa: “I found something really special for you, dear!!”
Picture
Mama was shocked!
Papa: “I got you every colour of thread, so now you’ll be able to mend all of our clothes, no matter what colour it is!!”
Picture
Finally the food was ready, the table was set, and everyone gathered for Christmas dinner.
Picture
Oma presented the turkey
Picture
Everyone complimented her on the turkey.
Picture
"Everything looks wonderful, Mama!!"
Picture
Oma: "There's lots of food, so help yourself"
Picture
"Okay, who wants a leg?"
Picture
After dinner, they cleared the table, and everyone just relaxed and enjoyed the evening together...
Picture
Opa was playing with his new engine......
Picture
.... when Oma brought over an old clock.  She had a favour to ask of Opa.
"Could you take a look and see if you can fix this clock? It's very special to me, and hasn't been working recently."
Picture
Opa pulled out his new tools.
"Let me take a look."
Picture
While the others were occupied, Pieter was enjoying his evening, and some Dutch treats....
Picture
It didn't take long before Opa figured out what the problem was.
 "There, that should do it."
Picture
Oma reset the time, and was so happy to have her favourite clock working again.
"Perfect! Thank you Opa!"
Picture
Mama: "It's been such a wondferul day and I hate to see it end, but I see it's getting late.
So I think we should go to bed. Tomorrow we have another full day"

Picture
The next morning, Mama and Papa decided to start taking down some of the holiday decorations,
and help get Oma's house back in order.
Picture
"Time to put it all away for another year."
Picture
Then with their Holiday visit with Oma finally come to an end, Papa packed up the family, and they were just about ready to leave for the trip home.
Oma: "Do you have everything?"
Picture
Everyone was all settled in and it was time for final goodbyes.
Mama: "We've had a wonderful time! Thanks so much for having us over."
Oma: " Now, keep those babies warm."
Picture
"And we're off!"
Picture
Oma waved goodbye as they headed off.
"Thanks for coming! Have a safe journey! Love you!"
Picture
The journey home had begun...
Picture
To help pass the time, Papa started to sing...  " Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way......."
Picture
"That was the best Christmas ever!!"
Picture
"Take us home Ruben!!"
