A continuing series of photos featuring my Fashion Size dolls by Iplehouse and SartoriaJ
the Bunnies
The first attempt at an Easter egg hunt at the town line....
Another Easter Egg Hunt
Naomi and Baron took their children out to hunt for Easter eggs, and came across some bunnies...
Introducing Serena
I was dreaming of new models for some new styles of costumes I've always wanted to make, and being very tired and bored, I was scrolling through the DOA Marketplace, and what should catch my eye but a lovely SartoriaJ Serena. She had been reduced to a ridiculous low price, and better yet, the seller lived just two hours away from me right here in Canada. So I contacted them, paid for her on a Thursday, she was mailed next day on Friday, and she arrived the following Monday. After just four days with no Customs taxes or fees! She'd have arrived even sooner if it hadn't been for the weekend. Now, that's the way to buy a doll!!
She's currently wearing the standard pink sari gown all my new ladies start out wearing...
I had been a little concerned at first because she has the larger Bell bust, and all my other SartoriaJ ladies have the smaller Dew bust. But when I checked the measurements, it turned out that an SJ Bell bust is the same size as a Slim Iplehouse FID with medium bust (same as three of my Iplehouse ladies) so she'd be able to wear all my existing Fashion sized costumes just fine.
I had considered making her a wig, but have decided to wait until I know what period she will be modelling for. I'd love to see her as Marie Antoinette.
A Morning Ride
It was a beautiful, warm spring morning, and Agnes went out for a ride..
She loved this time of year...
...when the meadow turned blue with the first flowers of spring.
Matias knew Agnes had gone out for a morning ride in the meadow....
...and went out to meet her...
"How was your ride?"
"It was wonderful."
"I love this time of year."
"And how was your horse?"
"She's been doing very well."
"I think we are really getting used to each other."
"I'm so happy that you got her for me."
"She's perfect."
Sarah in Red
A few photos of Sarah in the new red gown....

A Quiet Afternoon
Even though Baron and Naomi led very busy lives,
they still made time for each other....
and to spend some time alone together...
without any distractions.
Sarah in Versailles
With SartoriaJ's recent release of their 'Versailles' series, it reminded me just how much I've always loved that costume period. But the only gown I've made from that period so far, is my Queen of the Night. So I thought I'd try it on Sarah for a special photo shoot.
It's very handy that my Fashion size ladies can share with my Iplehouse JIDs, and Sarah looked gorgeous in Asa's gown. Her wig was way too big though, but then I took the short brown wig I'd originally made for Matias, and put it on her underneath, adding even more to the 'Rococo' look.
the French Queen

Miho & Dominic
It was a beautiful spring day and Miho and Dominic went for a walk in the meadow...
Sarah in the Garden
A few photos of Sarah in the garden, wearing the first of the two new gowns...
Visitors
Sarah was out in her garden when her guests arrived
A Second Gown
I finally finished the second green and wine gown.
...and took Sarah out for some photos
where she met the Raven, who was also out having his photo taken.
This second gown is pretty much identical to the first one, except this one has dagged sleeves...which took more than triple the time to bead.
There are also a few other subtle difference. The second gown is beaded with 'solid' gold beads, whereas the first one was done with sparkly, clear gold beads. Part of that was from necessity since I didn't have enough of either to do both, and none of the local stores had any either. Thankfully my sister came to the rescue and donated her collection of gold seed beads.
The second gown was also given the chatelaine I purchased at the doll show in early May.
The second gown was also given the chatelaine I purchased at the doll show in early May.
The second gown also has different lace at the neckline, again because I didn't have enough of this one - my favourite - to do both. There's also a few subtle design changes, including larger gold beads along the neckline, and a slightly bigger 'pendent' in centre front. And her necklace is made with sparkly gold beads instead of the solid gold ones in Serena's necklace.
It is interesting that even though both gowns are exactly the same size, they fit both ladies just as well, even though Sarah has the smaller 'Dew' bust, and Serena has the larger 'Bell' bust. It's thanks to the fact the bodices lace up in the back, making them 'adjustable' and able to fit different sized dolls.
the Necklace
Monica had put on her new gown, when Lawrence came up behind her.
"Close your eyes."
He put on a beautiful new necklace...
..that he had ordered specially made to match her gown.
She took a look in her mirror...
"It's so beautiful."
"Thank you."
"I love you."
