This year Nami received a Lego Buckingham Palace set for Christmas, and she invited some of her friends over to help her build it..... But like last year, they mostly just watched. And played with the figures.... "I love the Queen.." "And I have the King. He's got a HUGE sword!" "All these guards have guns..."
Papa discovers a full keg in the pantry and the fellas settle in to relax and enjoy the season. "Cheers! to Oma and her beer!"
Well, the Christmas photos have finally come to an end, and I'm in the process of reclaiming my dining room. I shot the last of the Gnome Family Christmas photos yesterday, and sent them to my sister, who will be continuing with the story for a little while yet - and I'll be posting them here as she does. There's just one more scene to shoot, but I'm waiting for the snow expected this coming weekend. And that doesn't require the dining room. Most of the bigger Christmas props have been packed away already, and most of the furniture put back on the shelves in the basement. Now I have to tackle all the miscellaneous props, and reorganize some of my boxes with smaller props, since I got (and made) some new ones, and the boxes were already full to bursting. So there's some reorganizing in order. There's two birthday parties I need to shoot. One should have been done already, since her birthday is actually today, but being of 'school age' her parents have decided to hold it on the weekend. At least that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.
Speaking of 'arriving', Vakkmurddarr, the Dwarf King, from AGatti in Russia, is 'Out for Delivery', so should be arriving any minute. Which means I'll have three of her little guys to make costumes for so they can eventually go get faceups. But first, I want to make a robe for Christine, and an outfit for Phairby. And since she's blank, now it's also the perfect time to make a couple of wig caps. And while I'm at it, and still have a blank Lawrence head, I should make some wig caps for him and Rex at the same time. Well, better get back to it..... Last time we were at the local nursery, they had all their Christmas decorations on sale, and I noticed some little nutcrackers - some 'brown' nutcrackers. I'd never seen them like that before, and thought my light brown dolls would appreciate nutcrackers like themselves, so bought two...
With the baking all done, it's time for some clean up. Making sure to get every spot. "All this hard work, Son, is making me thirsty."
January 16th is 'Appreciate a Dragon Day', and around here we certainly do.
It's been almost three years since he appeared on the scene, and he's been well-loved ever since, having participated in many adventures. So let's have a look back at some of them... (*click on the photos to go back to the stories...) Papa loves to bake. So with the women away, and Oma not around to be in charge, he ventures into some Christmas baking while Opa watches the babies. "Needs just a pinch..." The table quickly fills with yummy treats. Pieter is a great helper but tends to make a bit of a mess.
It's Christmas Eve day and there's some time to build a few snow-gnomes. Papa has some big plans for the next one. Opa: "I don't know son, seems a little big." Mama comes to see what they're doing. Mama: "Oma and I are going to the village to do some last minute Christmas shopping, so I'd like you to babysit the little ones. Don't be long"
