Kaye Wiggs Everyday - Part 2
A collection of smaller photo shoots of my Kaye Wiggs dolls
New Play Clothes
I had been working on some contemporary play clothes for my Kaye Wiggs girls, after all, they can't stay fairies forever, and it was way too hot out for their warm weather outfits....
So I braved the heat to take some photos of them....
I started out with the intent to make four new outfits so there would be some choice. Three of them would be like Hope's, with a short jumper over a short-sleeve T-shirt and leggings....
When I was looking through the stretchy knits for fabrics for the T-shirts, I came across one that was from a baby once and had a cute motif on the front. So that outfit ended up with a pouffy skirt that wouldn't cover the T-shirt. Layla chose to wear that outfit...
Then I thought the other three outfits, even though different prints and colours, looked too much the same, and then I thought of trying one of my BID's TTYA overalls on Missy. It looked so cute, but the straps were a bit snug. The straps had originally been way too long for my BIDs, so I had basted the back bib shorter. I did have two pairs of the overalls, and only one was being worn, so I took my seam ripper and removed the basting from one of them. It was perfect!
I also borrowed a BID cap, and Missy suddenly became a little Tom-boy.....

Happy Birthday Rags!
It's rumoured that cats have nine lives, and Rags certainly has quite a few. He lives with my little Kaye Wiggs girls, and also with several of my other contemporary families, as well as back in time in Victorian days, and in Fantasy Medieval times.
My little Kaye Wiggs girls decided to get together to celebrate Rag's second birthday, and even had a special kitty cake for him...

"Happy birthday, Rags!"
"You do know that he can't blow out that candle, right?"
But Cinnamon was undeterred. He could still enjoy looking at the flame.

A New Look for Talyssa
I've been so frustrated by my Tiny Talyssa. I've tried so many wigs on her yet none of them really look good on their own without a hat. The problem is that she has such a high jellybean-shaped head and if there's bangs they stand out way too much. A hat helps hide everything. She has such a small head that all the commercial wigs just don't look in scale. So I thought I'd try to make her a mohair wig. At least it would be the shape of her head, so would stay in place and not ride forward like all the Monique wigs do.
I looked through my collection of brown mohair locks, and chose the 'Dark Antique Brown' from a goat named Lucille. She must have been a rather young goat since the mohair was very curly. So I sewed strips of wefting, combed it, and then glued it all onto the hand cap I'd made...

Wet, combed, and styled, I think I have finally found something that makes her look cute without a hat.
Story Time
The other day I caught Talyssa, sitting in the sunlight as it streamed through the window...
....reading to her teddies....
Teddy Bear Picnic
We took a little drive up north hoping to see some fall colours. I took along my little Kaye Wiggs girls hoping there would be some photo opportunities. But the only time they came out of the car was to have a picnic in a park in Gravenhurst....

Introducing Raillie
I'd been watching this little cutie for months on one of the doll forums, and finally gave into temptation and bought her. She's Raillie Elf, by Kaye Wiggs, basically a modified Tillie with bigger elf ears. I've really been enjoying my small Kaye Wiggs dolls recently, and thought she'd make a great addition to my gang.
It was extra nice that the seller lived just over an hour's drive away, so we were able to pick her up in person. Nothing like immediate gratification!

So, I glued a loose eyelash, changed her eyes to a size smaller, put on the outfit I made the day before, and tried on some wigs from the small stash her size. I liked this one best....
So, after I changed her eyes, my new little Raillie was looking so 'familiar'.
Maybe it was her dark eyes and pale complexion, but even with her dark wig, she just looked so familiar. She kept reminding me of a certain granddaughter, who has curly red hair and wears glasses. So I borrowed Grace's red wig, and put some glasses on her....
Yup, definitely. Even Jan thought so.
Then I took her on a little outing with two of her new friends....

I loved how she looked like this, but she couldn't keep the wig. I looked at several wig sites, and both wigs I was considering were sold out in red everywhere. So maybe I need to make one. So for now she'll just be going back to her brunette self.
